I am currently in a season of unusual life stressors that are creating tension in my neck, jaw, and shoulders.  While it’s clear that I know the value of creativity for our emotional wellbeing I was making common excuses like: ‘I have too much to do’ and ‘I’d rather do something that takes less effort’.  I finally decided it was time…no more excuses. 
Keeping it simple – I picked up a pile of magazines and randomly ripped one page from each of them.  Then I chose an image from each page to collage together in my journal.  Taking it one step further I wrote down a few words that came to mind.  That was it. 
I was blown away by the physical change in my body after this simple invitation.  There was an obvious release of tension in my neck and shoulders.  While I expected to feel more relaxed, I did not expect the intense physical shift that occurred.  An added bonus, I had a good night sleep!
